I was thinking lately--well, worried is more the word for it--about my writing future.
Will my books be good? Popular? Will they touch the hearts and souls of my readers? Will I write good literature? Will I write good stories?
But I realized, as these waterfall of questions thundered in my mind--God's Will is what will happen. And nothing is better than God's Will. Nothing more good, pure, or sanctifying could come than God's Will in my life and the lives of my family.
"They Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven..."
As Dr. George Grant said, we hear that phrase and pray it, but rarely believe it.
God's Will will be done, whether or not we want it or will it. That is why we must pray to align our will with the Lord's--for His is the better choice.
So, no matter what happens in my writing and books, God's Will will be done.
And it will beautiful.
I need to trust Him now and trust He has a plan. Whatever it may be. I need to trust Him with my future, and present. If my books will be classics--I will praise Him. If my books flop and never see the light of day--I will praise Him.
For now, however, I am am going to focus a bit more on this blog. I can't promise anything, but I am going to try and get a photography post up on Tuesdays and a writing post up on Fridays.
Thanks for listening to my heart, y'all.
"Don not be anxious in anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." ~Philippians 4:6-7
~The Scribbler in the Attic

ReplyDeleteGreat Post, Willa! Thanks for sharing, I know how you feel. A chapter in my life (the school girl one) has closed and I'm also worried about my future; you know what I should do with my life, etc. But thank you for reminding me that God's Will is the best for my life! :)
