Sunrise

Quietly as the rainbow goes, so the sunrise peeks above the hills, spilling its golden glory over the dips and bumps of the forested hills. Light in its beauty spreads across the fields, bathing the green grass in a hazy sprinkle of sparkles as the beams of sunlight hit the dew-drops. Splashes of color leap to life as the darkness of the cold night recedes, replaced by splendid sunrise. Like a seamstress bending over her needle work, so the sun slipped higher into the sky, watching over the quilted land.

To the Greeks, the sun was a god, flying over the land, watching, driving his chariot of flaming horses. To the Celts sunrise was the time-between-times. To others, it is simply the sunrise. I woke one morning early this week to a red dawn, breathtaking to behold. I knew it was a perfect time to take pictures, so I strapped on the camera and headed out to our front yard where one of our trees was in full bloom.

I know there has been some confusion as to if I take the pictures I post or if I edit them. These pictures above I took myself, and they are unedited.

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sits the Lord is to be praised~ Psalm 113:3
